Events in April 2009- Part 1

Had a good start in April at Macau and Hong Kong from 1st to 6th of April, on a company incentive trip for 2 nights and went to Hong Kong for another 2 nights. It was a great trip because the weather is perfect at 20 degrees celsius, great friends, nice food and most of all, good shopping too. Let me tell u when you go on a HK trip, you can actually access CHINA just by passing a custom ( eg. Singapore-Jb) and u can visit Shen Zhen from HK and ZhuHai from Macau. It took less than 1 hr to cross to another country…hahaha!!!

Really enjoyed my stay in Macau as I was put into the newest hotel- Venetian Macau Hotel. The rooms are huge and the beds are queen sized with a living room. The toilet is super too. It’s about $400 to $500 per night and I stayed for FREE!! Yeah, feels great to be rewarded for hard work.

Well, though we went to a place full of bright lights and pleasure..we did not gamble. We walked past the casino several times to get to our hotel lift lobby. Many kinds of people are in the casino for different agenda. I shall not elaborate. 

We went to Zhuhai from Macau (just 1 hr journey) and shop at Hua Lian Jie -Whole sale place for clothing. We were busy shopping so no photos to show you. : )

Anyway, Life took a turn when we went to HongKong, as it is our personal trip, we stayed at YMCA Salisbury at Kowloon. It was definitely nothing compared to Venetian. Jus a simple and clean room. There’s a Starbucks just right across the hotel and the Espirit Outlet is also there. Convenient to the mtr. It’s only $168 per night.

We went to Lai Chi Kok (a mtr station) to their wholesale shopping center. Well, I didn’t get managed to get much stuff there. Some of my friends bought very nice shoes from addidas warehouse there. After that we went to The Peak, it is written in the local travel guide that if we are in hongkong and have not visited The Peak, we have not really been to Hong Kong. It was a rainy night with strong winds so the pictures we took are not fantastic.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We had dessert at Xu Liu San after a tiring day of shopping and at The Peak before calling it a day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lastly, I must introduce a shop at Fa Yuen Street that sells only BLACK clothings. We are bought something here….hehehe. Well, that’s all for now….will update again.

 

By the way, I am thinking to go Taipei this year…just a prompting, not sure why…haha!

Here I am..Encouraged!

Been a while since I last updated my blog. Some of my friends wondered if I only blog once a month, truly I was busy and caught up with things in the short february month. Trying to adjust my life after a long trip in Jan, the Chinese new year season, work, cg and haha…everything la.!

Well, It’s Mar now…1st Quater of 2009 just passed by so quickly. I am thankful that W74 multiplied in Mar too, the new CG is W510. Just had the 1st CGM yesterday for W510 and I must say that many of the members have grown alot in the things of the Lord and am encouraged to see more of them stepping out and sharing their life together. I just love it seeing new friendships being forged! They are really making real effort to make it happen!

 Cher Hong shared his testimony on how he got saved and how that friend who reached out to him never give up. The friend was persistent and followed up on him weekly for months! He even encouraged the rest to just ask and invite friends to come to church. People are waiting….Truly the harvest is plentiful and we the labourers need to just do the work.

During the closing, jerrick just stepped out to pray for the evangelism effort for this coming month and for our Easter weekend. I strongly believe that this multiplication will draw out the potential of all the members to serve God in a greater way!

As for W74, tonight is the night for our 1st CGM. Looking forward to share the plans with them for this few weeks. Launching Angel and Mortal game (which many of them have not played before..good thing), Connection Weeks, and a BBQ cum Art of Wine Appreciation Night on 17 April for integration! In reach and out reach together!

So exciting as we work toward a common goal….The place of agreement is the place of great power! Believing for supernatural growth in this season. John 15: 16-17.

Happy New Year to all my Friends!

Time flies! It’s 3 weeks into the new year. Well, January 2009 has been a relaxing and enjoyable month for me. A good start is important for a new year….So on of 3rd of Jan…i flew to Korea for a great spiritual experience in the largest church in South Korea, the Yoido Full Gospel Church.

I took the airport bus to the same hotel that the Singapore team are also staying. We were glad that we got a straight bus to Lexington Hotel and we only need to pay about SG$16 for the trip. Once reaching the hotel at 7am, i was totally captivated by the lightings on the big building opposite the hotel and to my amazement, it is the church building.

 

Anyway, we couldn’t check in until noon so we decided to go for sauna (hot bath) near our hotel. It was an experience! We have to be naked to be in the hot bath though it was a all woman sauna, it took me quite a while to get into the hot bath. hahaha…we actually got scolded by those OH BAH SAN bec we tried to wear clothes in the hot bath. A pity that i can’t put up pictures to show you…( haha, you wish!)

Well, i visited the church on sunday before our Singapore team arrived. At the premise, i saw a elderly man tending a small stall and went over to see what it was. To my surprise, the church actually set up a small area where foreigners who visit the church can give donation for the needy and poor. …. give into a small box which has the shape of a loaf of bread. Immediately the church member will hold the donation box and start praying sincerely!!.. This is fervency!

 

 

 

Anyway, Korea is a prayer trip for me…woke up at 3AM to attend the morning prayer meeting with 12,000 people from the church. Amazingly, I was awake throughout the whole session. The spiritual atmosphere cannot be described, you got to be there to experience it. 

We went to the Prayer Mountain the next day and it was freezing! Super cold! All year round there will be people praying at the prayer mountain.

Sadly, on my 3rd day in korea, I have to leave for OSAKA for my company trip. It’s a fully paid 4 days incentive trip and we stayed in Swissotel Nankin Hotel, near the busy Namba station. hahaha….quite a few asked me which country do i enjoy more…i told them that korea is for my spiritual being and japan is for my soul! My first visit to Japan and I must say it is great! OSAKA got lots of nice shopping places especially near my hotel area and definitely with lots of street food. In KYOTO, visited 3 famous temples and had the best traditional Japanese Lunch! Took lots of photos….with all my colleagues. We are always behind others because of our phototaking!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My real experience in Japan started in TOKYO….because it’s an extended trip on our own…no more 5 star hotel. My advice to all who want to go TOKYO is always have someone there to assist you, if not, you must book the hotel that is beside the major subway lines (JR lines or Toei Lines) so that there will be airport bus to bring u there. Taxi in Japan is REALLY expensive. Another reason is that most of the minor stations do not have escalator for you and your luggage. Just imagine you have to carry 20kg of luggage up 2 to 4 segments of stairs and especially without any strong men with you!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I am happy that I travelled with my parents. It is our first trip together and paid by doreen and myself. Though it was tiring for my dad and mum, I think it was also a good trip for them, at least we got to see Mount Fuji and enjoyed hot spring at Hakone for 1 night and also took pictures with Mickey Mouse at Disneyland. Japan is really clean and a good place for holiday. But really expensive …a normal meal will costly about SG$12 to 15. Dinner will cost about SG$40 to 50 per person.

 

I will still like to visit Korea and Japan but probably not during winter so that can get to shop more!

Anyway, time to work hard and turn the cow situation around! 牛转乾坤！Happy Niu Year!

My Milestones

I realised that i have been working since 1999 after I graduated from NTU in Civil and Structural Engineering. hahaha…surprised for some of you who are reading my blog.

Anyway, it was also the same year that I become a CGL, taking one of the major milestones of my life though at that time, i didn’t think much of it because I jus kept doing what I was told to do because it was fulfilling and there’s so much satisfaction.

From the day i started to make my own decisions, I realised tat I would make some major decisions every 3 to 5years.

So let’s count, from O levels (age 16) I have to decide to go poly or jc..so I went poly (Singapore oldest poly) then at age 20, after completing poly…decided that I want to apply for university so got in at age 21.

I was pretty wild when I was younger, nearly got married at age 20…hahaha…but thankfully God is good, His ways is always higher than ours. Well, had i got married then, i will probably be a yellow faced woman now. I would not have come to know my Lord Jesus.

So i cruised through my years in NTU for 3 years…had lots of fun with all the hostel mates (mostly are guys but have lost contact).

 

 

 

The next milestone happened when I was studying in NTU. It was also the turning point of my life in 1996 that I came to city harvest and received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. My life has never been the same. I am glad that I am in the house of God!!!

Perhaps this christmas, it may be the same for you! The turning point for your life as you embarked into a new journey with Jesus, for He is reason for this season!!!

Being very happy and content serving God actively in the ministry, time passes quickly and before I knew it, I have worked for 5 years and I was not too fulfilling in my job. See…it’s about 3 to 5 years…stock check time!

So i decided to explore in other areas within my ex-company however things did not turn out the way we would like to so I make a honourable exit to do wat I am doing now…in Aug 2005.

What a big career switch to some people! I have never regretted in any major decisions that I have made and till today I am happy though I have my reservations then and have made many considerations before I take the step of faith to move on.

I am not sure what would be the next milestone in my life and when it will happen. Probably it’s the next biggest decision that I have to make to move up another level for my life. I look forward to the next milestone in my life with God. I will prosper in all things and be in health just as my soul prospers!!! Body, Soul and Spirit. Cheers!!!

My Heart’s Desires

Time flies! 2008 is coming to an end and soon before we realised, we are entering into 2009! A new year with new hope…Yeah! I am excited that I’ll be going to korea and Japan from 3 Jan to 15 Jan for spiritual cum soulish trip..hahaha…Be going to the largest church in korea for a 2 days conference before heading to Osaka for my company incentive trip, good right?  If you like to travel for free….join my company!

I’m looking forward to 2009 with holiday trips however there is another side of me thinking alot for my life next year…personal goals, family, career and ministry…so many things to think about!

Well, personally I am looking forward for a breakthrough ..maybe need to have some changes in lmy ife as I have been very comfortable at where I am…Perhaps some of you reading my blog can create something interesting for me…set it up!

As for my family, I am still praying for my family’s salvations. My mum and dad to get saved. God is a good God and I am hopeful. Career and ministry filled up most of my time, energy and money…..hahaha…Need to spend money to look nice and also to bless others. Upward mobility, 3rd space, marketplace ministry are some of the “IN” words now and I am still trying to find out how and when… 

2009 will mark my 10th year as a CGl and I am thankful to God for His love, grace, wisdom and favour upon my life and I thank Pastor Zhuang for trusting and believing in me, I thank all my beloved members who love and trusted in my leadership all these years! I also thank all my leaders who worked hard together with me all these years…so many of them that I can’t possibly name all of them. Thank you Jesus for making me who I am.

well, seemed like it’s 31 Dec 2008 in this post….hahaha…but can’t help to recap all that happened and to count my blessings. Still doing some more recap so that I can start to set goals for 2009.

Greater things have yet to come and greater things are still to be done! The God I know, Faithful and true!

Anyway, got to also think about buying gifts for christmas gift exchange, family and close friends! It’s more blessed to give than to receive….but I do enjoy receiving gifts!!  (Pls take note, only buy practical things)

Ok, the more important thing for me…..:) Running for my Los Angeles incentive trip now! Pray for me that i can hit my target (still have about 15K  API and 25K SPI)and touch down in LA next year! Thanks!

Give & you shall Receive

For the past 1 month I have been visiting my elder sister at her new place, Viz Holland off queensway after my gym session and today is the same. We will talk and update each other of things happening around our lives. Today, we talked about property…my bro-in-law and her are looking for property to buy in the next month or so…guess you know the property market is coming down slowly but surely. They have a few in mind and still waiting for good price. Well, my sister and i spoke alot of things….but i was particularly excited when she told me that they are moving into the 3rd dimensions. If you attended AC, you will know what i mean….Praying for a deal that will bring them into the 3rd dimensions so i was thrilled by it.

My heart will always get excited when I talked about a few things that are more serious are like business, opportunities of great connections and souls, on the lighter note…like drinking coffee in a nice cosy cafe, doing spa, going for body massage…hahaha!!! I don’t particularly like movies – not the typical weekend Singaporean.

All things need $ to enjoy…so we all need to move up in our level and pray for breakthrough in our business and also protections during this economic situation. Praise God that Dr. John Avanzini brought a word to encourage us and an anointing to bless us that we will be recession proof. We need to use our “talking stone”!!!

So after service, went to check out my CG thanksgiving venue at Clementi Park Condominium. Though a old development, the function room looks good for my cg. I have actually empowered 5 members to be the committee to look into the program for our 31 Dec event. They called it the “Wannabe Nite” that everyone got to dress in the profession that they aspire to be when they were young, eg. if they aspire to be policman, they have to come in policeman uniform. hahaha…quite fun, right? Looking forward to that night.

But before that we will have our Christmas party on 19 Dec at Diana’s place…. and another 5 members are in charge of the event…..it’s going to be fun!  Praise God that this will be the 1st christmas celebration for sky, esther and becky in our CG and CHC. 

Anyway, went Coffee Club @Holland Village with 6 other members for coffee and fellowship. We talked alot…about relationships (some ppl got interrogated while some got laughed at…hahaha), business ventures (my cg likes to eat and drink so naturally F&B business), upgrading ourselves through education and also the powerful effect of networking. Really a good time with them!!

 I thanked God that I am leading young adults who are dynamic, fun, loud, full of visions and definitely energy!!!

 The bible says that we are all created differently but we need each other for the whole body to function effectively. May W74 be  filled with people who can supply to each other and together we can shine for God in the marketplace!!!

The ESTA-My First Investment

Ho ho ho…. it’s christmas time! Well, really excited to be one of the proud owners of our 1st TOP property, THE ESTA at Amber Gardens. Went to take the keys today with Nicholas and Elaine but Michele was down with C.P so cannot come.

We got a great unit because it’s SEAVIEW, our unit is at the 20th floor and praise God that the view is not blocked by any nearby property. Really happy about it…actually wanted to stay in for 1 week before renting it out but then…got no electricity and water! hah, so see how. Look at the photos:

Looking forward to really own one myself..really don’t know when…maybe when i find my Mr. Right.

 

Anyway, had lunch with Yunjie as he also came to see the unit and we talked about life calling.

What is your life calling? Is earning lots of money or having material possessions? Are you happy in doing wat you doing? Actually all these are found in Matt 6:33 ” Seek Ye first the kingdom of God and all these things (money, house, car, woman/man …hahaha) will be added unto you.”

All human enjoys obtaining and pursuing things in life, let’s find our life calling to find fulfillment and enjoyment in it!

Is your new look the real you?

Consistent, Steady, “Zai” (hokkein), solid are some of the words people used to describe me and the things i do. Well, all these words have unknowingly created a “up there” image of me. I am quite a funny person and I do like to laugh alot and make jokes. My younger sister, doreen will know the best because we stay in the same room and very often I like to “disturb” her.

Anyway, to soften my looks, i went to my stylist for a change. I am always very cautious in where i cut my hair because it will either make you feel fabulous or lousy at the very instant of the new look. Well, most of the people I met gave alot of different comments such as “hey, you slimmed down.”, “wow, nice hair cut, suit you!”, “So cuteeeee” -(by samuel ang), “So stylish”, ” Hey, you can carry this look”, “which stylist do you go” etc. Almost everyone liked my new hair-do. Well, i can only conclude that people look at the outward and in order to create new conversations and new comments, you can create a new look for people to look at you differently.

Nevertheless, I do look younger with the new look….hahaha…that’s a good compliment. But no matter what kind of hair style I carry, I am still the funny and loud with laughters Karen. Still we must do our best to create a new look and still being the real us! Knowing who you are and being comfortable with your new look is important to live a fulfilling life. You don’t have to follow anyone! Follow your heart! and chose the right stylist.

New Look

“Bold” – the latest thing in my life

Just got myself a new handphone “blackberry BOLD” after a long wait. Nevetheless, I was happy with the new buy because I just paid $28 cash to get the phone because I renewed my contract, got $200 vouchers and traded in my $200 dollars worth Sony Ericsson phone.

Many people asked me why don’t i get the IPhone since it’s the most popular and In thing to have in town now. I replied because I can’t handle the touch screen, very often i touched the wrong thing on the screen and knowing me, I get frustrated. So the blackberry serves me well because it’s a keypad phone. Still getting to know on how to use the phone more effectively.

In the blackberry world, we each have a pin to connect with each other so that we can communicate with unlimited sms. Quite cool!

Intensified Anointing & the Price to pay

What an awesome night with Pastor Benny Hinn at Expo! Though i was seated at Hall 7 as I busy with my Beloved Pastor’s ordination photo collage so only reach at 8pm. Thankfully I still manage to listen to Pastor Benny’s message on Deut 31, Acts 2, Acts 4 and the story on Elijah and Elisha.. so mind blowing and spirit stirring. The presence of God was so strong even in Hall 7 and I could feel that God is really doing something in Asia and all over the churches in the world. I pray with all of my heart that I will be part of this mighty revival and the manifestation of God’s miracles, signs and wonders that will follow the word of God in our church.

Pastor Benny preached that the anointing in Acts 4 was in the 3rd dimension and similar to Elisha’s anointing, double portion from Elijah. It grew from 1 person saved in Acts 2 to whole church in Acts 4. But in the last days, the anointing of God is limitless and we will see signs and wonders even more…I am excited.

I have always prayed that God will use my hands to work signs and wonders. However we must understand that the anointing of God (unlimited power) comes with a price and God will dispense his anointing upon the called. Those who experience threats in their life often gets into the anointing because they will pray more and threats forces us into the anointing.

There are 8 things we need to understand to receive the anointing:

1) We must be Called. When God calls you, He places a demand on your life. You may not be able to do what you want but to do what God wants.

2) We need to know how to be a Warrior; to use the sword of the Spirit for a warfare. Bold, determined, not a coward, fearless.

3) We need to PLOUGH through prayer and intercession.

4) We need to place ourself under the authority of the man of God and be faithful to His office; be loyal and faithful. Dying to our own vision but serve another man’s vision

5) No Reluntance

6) We need to let go of our past an God will give us our tomorrow. We need to destroy our tools of survival and depend on God. Elisha went back to destroy his farming tools.

7)  Serve the man of God. Elisha followed Elijah. Gilgal = a place of faith. We have to live by faith and not be sight from now on.

8) When we have been faithful to the man of God over our life and serve Him; just like Elisha, he followed Elijah to many places and served him till Elijah asked what do Elisha wants. He got him to ask. We will be asked to tell what we want and we must be ready for it.

This kind of anointing will have signs and wonders follow after it and it is a calling! I need to ponder and meditate what are the price for me to pay. Am i ready to pay the price and what is my price?
